The core function of the motor shaft spiral
Motion Conversion
Screw Drive: Converts rotary motion into linear motion, or adjusts part position, through a screw pair (screw and nut). For example, a lathe uses a screw drive to move the tool rest.
Differential Screw: Two sections of threads with the same direction but different pitches on the same screw, achieving minute displacement through the pitch difference (e.g., micrometer).
Reverse Screw: Two sections of threads with opposite directions, using the sum of the pitches to achieve rapid movement (e.g., drill press table lifting).
Material Conveying
Screw Conveyor: A motor drives the screw shaft to rotate, and the blades push the material to slide along the axial direction, achieving continuous conveying of powder or particles. It has a simple structure and good sealing, but has large resistance and fast wear.
Sealing Function
Two-section Reverse Thread Seal: The spiral grooves have opposite directions. When rotating at high speed, it will expel gas to both sides, forming a vacuum trap in the middle to achieve vacuum sealing. The sealing performance is affected by the spiral direction, gap, thread form, and spindle speed.
